Erdotin
Erdotin® ▼ – the first new mucolytic licensed in the UK and Ireland for over 25 years1 which offers an innovative new treatment for the symptom of productive cough in acute exacerbations of COPD2.
When patients with COPD experience exacerbations, Erdotin’s Anti-adhesive* 2,3, Anti-oxidant† 2, 4-6 , Mucolytic2, 7-10(AAM) properties may offer:
- At least a doubling of symptom resolution when combined with amoxicillin compared with amoxicillin alone7
- A reduction in the severity and frequency of cough9
- A reduction in expectoration volume8, 10, 11
- An improvement in mucociliary clearance10
Erdotin has a significant anti-oxidant action, demonstrated by both in vitro and in vivo studies2. Studies in vivo included small numbers.
Erdotin is a simple twice daily 300mg dose that can be used with or without antibiotics for ten days as an adjunct to standard care2.
